Simple but expressive, Warli paintings are traditionally composed by the Warli community as an offering to God. Rice is pounded into a powder and mixed with water or milk to use as the paint. The painter fills the canvas with simple but dominant brush strokes that depict Warli stick figures immersed in their agrarian culture and village life.
