Paresh Mangalia, Deputy Director, Khamir

Paresh is a commerce graduate and associated with Khamir, a craft organisation based in Kutch since its inception in 2005. Paresh holds more than 20 years of experience in the handicraft sector and worked closely with every craft form of Kutch. He played a leading role in setting up Kala cotton and Desi Oon value chains in Khamir. He has been heading the marketing arm of Khamir for the last 5 years. He plays a key role in generating sustainable livelihoods for more than 200 craft units and 250 hand spinners of Kutch. He wishes to see the second generation of artisans coming into the craft sector and getting dignified livelihoods while continuing their living traditions.
